Annual Report Highlights
- Kansas Expansion
-
We have established a partnership with the Kansas City Kansas Public School District, and AmeriCorps Kansas for the 2022-2023 school year. Two Residents will be serving in a mentor teacher’s classroom at Eugene Ware Elementary School as they are earning their elementary licensure.
- Pre-K Cooperative Partnership
-
Through a collaborative partnership between KCTR and the Pre-K Cooperative, along with funding from the Sherman Family Foundation and SchoolSmart Kansas City, we were able to place Residents in early childhood learning centers. Residents worked towards completing their early childhood education certification, and will work in ECE centers this fall.
- Revision to Mission, Vision, and Values
-
In response to our continued learning and growth as an organization, specifically as it relates to antiracism, equity, and inclusivity, we believed that we needed to better align our vision, mission, and values. We engaged key stakeholders and worked as a team in partnership with Kevra Consulting to revise our mission, vision, and values. We look forward to sharing more about this work with our community in the coming year.
- Special Education Certification Launched
-
We expanded our certification offerings last year to now include special education mild/moderate K-12. This is our first certification expansion since we launched in 2016. We are grateful for our partnership with the Marion and Henry Bloch Foundation for their generous support in our pursuit to launch this new pathway.
