About Brittney McGinley

Brittney McGinley thrives at the intersection of design and strategy. As a founding team member of the Kansas City Teacher Residency (KCTR), she holds invaluable start-up experience growing the organization’s reach to 10,000 children. Brittney’s commitment to KCTR’s mission is nurtured by her belief that a loving adult role model has the power to transform the trajectory of a child’s life. At KCTR, she’s Manager of Development and Engagement. Brittney sees the big picture, galvanizes stakeholders, and executes strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization.

Brittney carries a decade of experience in developing and deploying strategic communications in public relations, fundraising, marketing, and crisis management for nonprofits.

Outside of work, you’ll find Brittney volunteering as an advisor to and advocate for DREAMers and first-generation college-bound Latinx youth. Her passion for supporting young people through education is fueled by the legacies of heroic matriarchs who paved the way for her.

Brittney is invigorated by the love of Hayden, her husband, and Carter, their son. She enjoys cooking dinners in with family, crafting home design projects, and reading books on subjects far and wide.

A Kansas City native, she’s a proud graduate of the University of Missouri. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a History minor.
