Vote for a Cause to Support at the KCTR Holiday Party

KCTR will be supporting one non-profit organization through our Holiday Party raffle, but we need your vote to decide on the non-profit!

1) Vote for 1 of 5 meaningful non-profits that have been nominated by KCTR Residents and Graduates.
2.) KCTR will take donations at the holiday party in support of the winning non-profit.
3.) At the party, donate and receive a ticket.
4.) Each ticket earns you a free drink ticket AND your name in a prize raffle drawing.

Let’s give back this holiday and support a local cause doing good work in our city!

Nonprofit Organization | Pre-School | Disability Service

Nominated by Katie Hendricks, Cohort One

Our mission is to build brighter futures for children and adults with disabilities by providing comprehensive educational, vocational, and therapeutic services.

Ability KC brings together Children’s Therapeutic Learning Center and Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City. Whether an individual is born with or experiences a disability, that person does not have to be defined by limitations. We invite you to join the journey in helping others and changing conversations from disability to ability.

Nonprofit Organization | Fresh Produce Rescue and Distribution

Nominated by Gina Kelling, Cohort Three

After the Harvest rescues nutritious fruits and vegetables from going to waste and donates them to agencies that serve hungry people, primarily in Greater Kansas City.

Our volunteers glean after the harvest, picking what’s left in farmers’ fields and picking up already harvested leftover produce. The majority of the funds we raise helps secure semi-truckloads of donated produce that might otherwise end up in landfills. After the Harvest, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the largest produce donor to Harvesters—The Community Food Network.

Nonprofit Organization | Literacy Program | Pediatric Service

Nominated by Grant Eliot Williams, Cohort Three

Reach Out and Read gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together.

Reach Out and Read Kansas City has three programs to ensure as many children as possible in the Kansas City area are provided with books of their own, and enter school ready to succeed: School Readiness Program, Hooked on Books Program, and Kindergarten Book Bag Program.

Nonprofit Organization | Scholarship Program

Nominated by Tom Martin, Cohort Two

The Pell Project exists because undocumented, college-bound students do not have access to federal financial aid.

We provide undocumented students with a significant private scholarship, equivalent to the US Pell Grant to break down economic barriers to college.

Nonprofit Organization | Museum | Literacy Program

Nominated by Harriett Gunderson, Cohort Three

The Rabbit hole is an artist-driven non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of a new museum experience around literature.

The Rabbit Hole is a visionary nonprofit center for the children’s book chartered to create a new and extraordinary experience around books that will change lives and change the way we think about literacy. By creating greater access to literature and a culture of books that embraces both readers and non-readers alike, The Rabbit Hole will give rise to new and better readers, and help build a future committed to equality.

Tis’ the Season for Giving

Together, we can make a difference in our city.
